Fees
Therapy session Fees

The standard cost of a 60-minute consultation (which captures 50 minutes of therapy, and 10 minutes spent note writing post-session) is $250 for individuals. In the interest of providing an accessible service, Second Home Psychology does also provide a limited number of allocated spots for clients who require a reduced fee. If you feel that your circumstances require a reduced fee, please let your psychologist know via email to discuss whether reduced fee spots are currently available.

Medicare rebate is available for eligible clients with a Mental Health Care Plan. Typically, this means that clients can expect to get back $145.25 per session, for 10 sessions in the calendar year, resulting in an out of pocket cost of $104.75 per session. Clients who have already reached their safety net for the year may receive a higher rebate from Medicare.
Medicare rebate is not applicable for autism and ADHD assessments (see below).

Session fees will be reviewed mid-year each year. If you have booked an extended session with your psychologist (spanning >50 and ≤90 minutes), the fee for the additional session time is charged at a pro rata. The session fee is payable following attendance of the session, on the same day as service date. There is also a small payment processing fee allocated to the payer of the session. You are welcome to ask questions and discuss any concerns about the professional fees with your psychologist at any time.
Assessment Fees

Autism and ADHD assessment fees will depend on the number of hours required to complete the service. Standard costs are as follows, though may need to be adjusted if the service requires additional hours to complete. If during the assessment this is looking likely, your psychologist will discuss this with you prior to adding any additional charges beyond what is described here (or what you have agreed with your psychologist separately via email quote).

Standard Assessment Costs:

Autism assessment (with 1-2 page brief summary report) - $770;

ADHD Assessment (with 1-2 page brief summary report) - $770;

Autism and ADHD Assessment (with 1-2 page brief summary report) - $1100

Additions to Standard Assessment:

The following additions are optional add-ons to your assessment. Many people prefer to have a comprehensive report for their records and personal insight. These reports take many hours to complete, and thus require an additional charge on top of the standard assessment fee. If you are considering applying for the NDIS please let your psychologist know ahead of your assessment, as this may change the type of assessment you require. Applications for the NDIS often require a full comprehensive report AND functional capacity assessment to be completed. Please keep this in mind if this is your intention.

Comprehensive report option (15-20 page report which comprehensively outlines assessment framework, test outcomes, conclusions and key recommendations). (+$500)

Functional Capacity Assessment option (required for those applying for NDIS): (+$370)

Assessment costs are not able to be funded via Medicare. Please be aware that Medicare does not provide rebates for ADHD and/or autism assessments. A Mental Health Care Plan cannot be used for these sessions, as they do not come under the Better Access Medicare scheme.

Assessment information

Please be aware that as a Clinical Psychologist, Chiara is able to assess and diagnose autism and ADHD, but is not able to prescribe medication. If you are considering pharmacological support for ADHD, it is recommended that you see a psychiatrist rather than a psychologist, as psychiatrists are legally required to perform their own assessments prior to prescribing ADHD medication and therefore you may end up with duplicate costs if you proceed with Chiara. ADHD Assessments at Second Home psychology are most beneficial for personal insight and clinical recommendations.

Your psychologist aims to complete reports within 4-8 weeks from the date of your feedback session. Please note that reports are not suitable for use in court or forensic settings.
